Shift: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM CDT

Pay Rate: $58.00/hr 

Job Summary

Our client ompassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and injured pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for children who require close monitoring, advanced nursing interventions, and comprehensive critical care management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.

• Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and identify changes in clinical status.

• Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed therapies safely.

• Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including cardiac monitors and ventilators, as appropriate.

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Educate and support patients' families regarding treatment plans and care needs.

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.

• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Previous pediatric intensive care (PICU) or pediatric critical care nursing experience preferred.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred or required by the facility.

• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced pediatric critical care environment.
