Job Summary

Shriners Children's Chicago is seeking a qualified and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to provide diagnostic imaging services in a pediatric healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, ensuring patient safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.

• Position patients appropriately to obtain accurate, high-quality diagnostic images.

• Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout imaging procedures.

• Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.

• Operate radiographic equipment and ensure proper functioning.

• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the appropriate systems.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.

• Follow infection prevention, quality assurance, and departmental safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Active Radiologic Technologist license or certification applicable to the position and state requirements.

• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical imaging setting preferred.

• Experience working with pediatric patients is an advantage.

• Knowledge of radiation safety, patient positioning, and diagnostic imaging procedures.

• Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
